NEIL KRUG
“A few months ago, we discovered the Neil Krug photographies. He did some crazy photo shoot in Death Valley, California, using old expired polaroid films. The images came with an old filter grain and look amazing…” (Via Sixpack France)
13TH WITNESS
I know this guy isn’t the first to showcase this type of HDR cityscape photography (and that’s not all he does) but who cares? These shots are ill and I really enjoyed browsing through his Flickr. Click here to do the same.

SUPER HYPER REAL
Super Hyper Real aka. Jing Quek is a talented Chinese photographer currently residing in Singapore. Boasting an impressive portfolio, his unique approach has garnered much international attention and praise—and upon scrolling through the images included below you will undoubtedly agree that it’s well deserved. Below is a selection I’ve compiled of of his—sometimes experimental—and always impressive photography that, to me, raises a simple question: ..where do you fit in?

FLY ASIAN GIRL THAT REALLY LIKES MILK?

FLY CHICKEN-LOVING EXHIBITIONIST ASIAN GIRL?

OVERLY ENTHUSIASTIC PHOTOGRAPHER?

COLLEGE STUDENT WITH UNIQUE APPROACH TO HAVING FUN?

ON YOUR POWER CHOP SOUP GRIND?

NEXT-LEVEL LANDSCAPING PERSON?

OR MAYBE YOU’RE JUST DOWN WITH THE EMPIRE?

EAST HASTINGS
For our readers that don’t know, here in Vancouver we have an area called the downtown east side—more specifically we have a street called east Hastings. This is what it’s like… click “read more” and press play on the song. Both the images and the music capture it quite well…

IMAGE CAPTURES: 80′S BABIES
A new feature on the LAF, this series will try to capture and encompass the essence of a broad topic with the use of only a few simple images. In this edition, I attempt to share with you the childhood experiences of my entire generation (with a bit of a personal touch)—sorry, I couldn’t find any pictures of kids playing cops and robbers.
I encourage y’all to submit your own in the near future. Click ‘Read More’ and enjoy!

PHOTOGRAPHER SPOTLIGHT: MALEONN
Check out this “experimental photography” by Maleonn, who only 4 years ago was a shanghai-based advertising director. I find the richness of colours, contrasted with the aged photograph look that he goes for, is really eye-catching. And like a good movie, his photos manage to evoke some sort of emotion despite them being completely staged and planned out. (Probably because he depicts scenarios that make people wonder what the hell is going on…)
You have to love the fact that this guy went from being completely corporate to completely creative. He used to wear a suit and perform monotonous tasks and now he’s out there dressing people up in crazy outfits, spreading carrots on floors and buying oldschool flying machines just to get the perfect shot. Seriously though. You’ll see what I mean after the jump.

LOCAL PAPARAZZO 3
Check out a few nice shots by a reader that found out about our site at an A-trak show. They’re kind of grainy because of the lighting but I guess that’s the desired effect. Apparently we spread the word while inebriated—thanks for the e-mail, David.
Plus, fresh new photos by Jordan Todd after the jump.. (liking the new website, bro)
